I don't really think LotR qualifies as the "ultimate book" (if there is such a thing), it's not dynamic enough for that. But I still love and worship it for the magnificent alternate reality it offers. Heh, and allows me to escape into. =) At one time I was completely obsessed with it.
I've read The Hobbit / The Annotated Hobbit, The Lord of the rings, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Other Verses from the Red Book, The Silmarillion, Unfinished tales, The Book of Lost Tales, Part I, The Book of Lost Tales, Part II, The Lays of Beleriand, The Shaping of Middle-earth, The Lost Road and Other Writings...
And I strongly recommend you not to go anywhere near them if you don't want to end up as screwed up as I am. Uhh... *glance* Or doze, I presume... *freak* |
