Ive read the dune book and beginning the second one. I think that the movie actually did a good job of dipicting the book. the second movie though should have been longer because it told of two books, dune messiah and childrean of dune. im posting this just to see if anyone out there has an intrest of the books or movies.

I own the books, but they actually belong to my brother. I should read them someday, but I'm too intimidated by the thickness of the books and the smallness of the text. ^^; I suck.

Hmm, I've been thinking about reading some stuff from the Dune series. It sounds like an epic series I could become addicted to. I'll probably get one of the books next week and see how it pans out.

I've read Dune and Dune Messiah. I love books. They are my passion. People think I'm strange when I come in with 1100 page books. Thats what I call normal reading not heavy. They think I'm crazy. Eh what do they know?

I loved the original Dune. However, I thought that the movie for it failed to record the epic proportions of the books. It left out many plot twists that were meant to be included. The adaptation, as most adaptations tend to do, just did not feel complete.

There were also those extremely fake explosions in the first movie which really annoyed me. That's beside the fact however.

Although I never read either Dune Messiah or Children of Dune because I found them both quite boring, I immensely loved the movie adaptation of it. The story was much better with Ghanima and Leto II being almost adult instead of nine years old.

Plus, the actor who played Leto was perfect for the role.

It was just as long as original Dune mini-series. Three episodes and one hour long each. o_O;;
