Really American cartoons cannot match up to Anime's in the quality or animation.
Admittedly the Simpson's is funnier than most anime's, but it has gone off recently.
There have been some very decent US cartoons that could match up to anime's such as Reboot, Pirates of Darkwater, Batman the animated series and Batman: Beyond (or Batman of the Future if you're British) and a few others that were not overally mass produced and were expensively made, with loving care.
Nickelodeon seems to be the only studio producing really half-decent stuff. The Wild Thornberry's for instance is very good...although Spongebob is too idiotic for words...but funny.
US cartoons 'try' to be fun and are too much 'for kids' the best animes and cartoon are aimed at both, because the humour is more sophisticated. The US has to stop treating kids to toilet humour. |
