Okay, here goes, the first of my 5 'big' community project threads, this probably being the biggest one but oh well.
1
Walk Back the Path of your Life
The concept is quite simple. You live your life every day, but do you ever stop and think about how you ended up in the situation you are in, right now? Do you ever think back to what caused you to make certain decisions, do certain things, go to certain places? Did you ever think back to what is the very first real reason you ended up on this particular path? Here's the time to do so!
You don't have to cover every single one of the many paths you walk at every moment (i.e. being here is one, being online in general is another, doing sports is another one, etc. etc. etc.) of course, and neither do you have to share all the ones you DO want to share, all at once. If you just want to post one of your paths now, and another one later, that's fine, no need to save up until you've covered all you want.
MyPath #1: my being here
03-2002
I created this thread
early 03-2002
I sign up here, in hopes of having found another nice community for me to frequent.
02-2002
My own board isn't among the 5 final nominees for Board of the Month March at vbulletin.com, but the FFR board is and it receives my vote, instantly.
01-1999 ~ 01-2002
In three years of website development, somewhere along the way I end up with my own vB board and get more and more into working with PHP and professional website development.
November 4, 1998
I decide to start my own homepage, and use Angelfire as my host. The topic? Final Fantasy 7. The name? KuraFire's FF7 Zone. The location? www.angelfire.com/fl/kurazone
Ah, nostalgia. My `kurazone` introduced me to a set of fanfiction writers (FF7-fanfics, that is) among which was Kocica, and by chance, Michael Collins.
Summer / early fall 1998
I play Final Fantasy VII with Mutt pretty much every day, and because I love it so much I go online more and more to find FF7-related stuff, like fanfics and secrets and the like.
Early summer 1998
Mutt tells me he traded three of his legal PSX games (Doom, Lemmings 3D and one other) for one single copied (illegal) version of Final Fantasy VII, "some RPG, I dunno..."
Most people would've told him he was stupid for such a deal.
We thought it the best deal ever. We played FF VII till we dropped, or 'till I had to go home ^_^
Summer 1996
I start on my new high school, the `Bona` (short for Bonaventura College), in Leiden, where I'm placed in a class with Mutt and 28 other weirdos. I felt right at home. ^_^
Early summer 1996
Despite my sister going to the Gymnasium, and despite my Cito-score being nearly perfect, I decided to go to the Bona-college instead. Most people from my village went there, and I felt right at home there when I visited it to check it out...
I'll post more `paths` later on, but for now this will have to do. So people, let's get it on: what decisions defined YOUR paths in life?! |
