There is definatly a large difference between online and RL friends, even if it's not clear, it's still a big difference.
Just think of how you treat others online and how you treat people in RL. Even though you know that the person on the other end, is not different than the person they would be in RL, most seem to act different online, so sometimes you treat them different.
I personally act online alot like I do in RL. I try not to get angry, but after awhile of not getting angry, it builds up and I start to get pissed easily. I think that is better than being an ******* though, if only to be angry at others on occasion, then be a jerk all the time ya'know?
I find it harder online to treat those I'd call 'online friends' with the same kind of respect I'd treat my RL Friends. I want to treat them the same, but without the depth and emotion of RL, it all seems like too much. I have a pretty long fuse most of the time, but online it can be cut short sometimes.
I guess I wish I could have the same relation to others online, as I do in RL. Everyone cares less for others online than in RL. So what would your thoughts be, how do you treat others online?

Same goes for me. I also try to stay calm, but, like you said, it builds up and you can get annoyed easily.
I often have a hard time treating people online the same way I would treat them in real life, as you can't see, show, or even share emotions online. Something else that matters here is the other's attitude. A lot of people act very different online than they would in real life. Meaning that you can't be sure whether the person is telling you the truth or not.
Sure, I have "friends" online, but not seeing them or talking to them doesn't make me feel lonely; unlike it would, for a close, real life friend.
That's my 2 cents..I hope I'm making sense. |

I'm agreed with you. I think that too many people acts differents with the online treatment, sometimes try to be like they want to be in the real life. Sometimes I can't undertands this behavior.
But, for sure I preffer my RLF that my ROF. But sometimes you can say things that you never say a RLF. Why ? ....... I don't know....
What do you think.... |

I agree that people try and act like they would rather be in Real life, online. You change the way you act, things you say... All so you can act the way you would like to act in public. Sorda gives you two lives to live on.
I also don't 'miss' my friends online as I would my RL friends. I have 'friends', 'best friends, and those who might even be 'lifelong friends' in RL. But online, it's really only those people whom you can talk with alot, or agree with the most. They aren't really 'friends'.
I can never have an online friendship go beyond normal friends either. Best friends online is never truly real. Those are only the people you talk to the most. You have to loosen up, because online, people aren't going to be as social, or relate to you as much.
Unless you talk to other people and get to know them, you'll never have many friends online. Because other people won't get to know you without some sort of action being taken. In RL however, you can become friends with someone, merely because you are around them alot, leading up to both of you observing eachother, so you become friends or enemies after awhile.
Online enemies are another weird subject actually...

| I don't comunicate verbally much with ppl in real life so I generally find that when i say things online it doesnt come out right, ppl dont understand me or it generally sounds very harsh, but i wouldnt say I necessarly change. |

Oh I talk lots to my friends in RL but when on the net I don't seem to speak to people much. If I do speak to anyone online or offline I always speak whatever is on my mind ( never offensive of course ). |
