So I've been looking around for a job lately and no matter what I do I just don't seem to have any luck. Granted I have experience and I have had a couple jobs in the past, I think I'd definitely get hired right away. Unfortunately for a lot of people including myself, bad economy and people being extremely picky with who they hire and other varied reasons prevent people from landing a job. It sucks, but all one can do is keep going through the process till the "stars align" and you get a job, haha.
Anyways, I figured if anyone is in the position of not finding a job, what tips other than the obvious (i.e. dressing for the part, being curtious, etc.) would you recommend that might help because lets face it, every interview is different to some extent! Also, I'm curious what was your best and worse jobs and why?? |

What type of job are you going for?
And the zoo, Lye!? That's probably the best job left in Detroit, man. I've been ripping up carpet and re-installing it at Pizza Hut (sub-contracted), good money, but not nearly enough hours. |

I'm going for office job or retail right now. Trying to avoid retail as much as possible, ick. |

The Detroit Zoo isn't worth spending your time and money on. Seriously, and that's sad.

I hear you on the retail, I can't stand working in places like that. I'll never work in the retail or restaurant industries again, just way too much conflict and bull**** that's hanging around, readily available. |

| I can't get any, I was just about to see abou trying to build up my freelance illustration career but now my girlfriend wants me to live with her and pay my way whilst doing so, so I'm probably going to have to find a part time job for minimum wage, but its easier said than done as I always get to the interview stage and then once they've actually met me they decide they don't me to work for them. ****s. They should consider themselves lucky to have a graduate stacking their shelves. |

hey guys, just a random thought here
i got training in a job that's in high demand in the world.
seriously that's all it takes.
i suppose in the training phase it's a ***** but otherwise...
money won't fly at ya for just anything anymore sadly so do it. or rob a bank, robbing banks is fun. crime or high demand.
nice concept huh? just trying to inject some realism in this |
