we all know of things that just don't make sense and wonder "What. The. ****?!" Like Quina for example...what the hell is it!?
anyways, i was wondering about the word redundant...because, if i understand the English language correctly, you have to be dundant before you can be REdundant. correct? or has the public education system failed me again?

I don't thing the 're' is a prefix for redundant, I'm pretty sure that's the whole word.
I could be wrong though. |

| dundant doesn't exist, but if it did, it'd mean something like: no repetition, but no lack of information/talk. |

why is Vacuum the only word in the English language with two consecutive U's? it can't be because of the sound, because there is also "perfume" |

| The "re" isn't a prefix, it's part of the word. Vacuum probably originated from some other language, and for some strange reason they kept the consecutive "u"s. It's like the word "beauty", it's the only word in English with three consecutive vowels, and it's spelt that way because that's how it's spelt in French. |
