Lakes. Mainly because I am a long way from any ocean, and live on a lake. I enjoy Jetskiing on lakes.

Lakes for the simple fact that you can't really get lost in them unless your in one of the Great Lakes, but then who would want to go that far out to get lost. Plus I have a fear of Giant sea creatures and thats another reason I stay away from oceans. Plus lakes look pretty in the sunset.

Lakes because the saltyness is at a minimum.
Salty Water= bad. NonSalty Water= good

Anyways, beaches are always crowded with people. Lakes are pretty too

Lakes, I believe. I don't need the whole ocean to be happy.

Oceans. Why?

I grew up fairly close to one. Call it nostalgia.
I love the smell of an ocean breeze. The salt in the air smells nice, I think.
Oceans tend to have this nice moderating effect on temperature. I hate wild fluctuations in temperature.
Beaches are awesome places to people-watch. Almost as good as airports, in my estimation.

And the irony in all this is that I don't like to swim and I can't sunbathe. Oh well.
