Simplistic Desires
Question One: If you had the ability to change something monumentally and chiefly important to the shape of this world, what would it be?
I would have to say that I would make a new way of life. I would obliterate capitalism, and reconstruct it to something else. A mixture between Communism & Capitalism would be born, and I would be a renowned world leader. Though, I'm still trying to work out the kinks...
The steps in gaining world trust would be significantly hard, and I wouldn't start in some large country. Firstly, I would leave for some small, and unremote country, more preferably an island and start to gain trust from the people.
After making the trust between the people and becoming their leader, I'd make a total effort in making better relationships with foriegn countries; specifically, these countries would have to need a high demand of something that the country I owned would need.
In other words, I'd boost economic growth. Then, I'd propose a change of life structure - Communial Capitalistism, or something less complex. The country would accept it. The world would suddenly have a total spin and question it. They would see my integrity, and start a new revolution of thought. This thought would destroy the bitter cruelty capitalism held, and I'd be a success.
Changes would be made, and the world would be significantly better.  |

I'd create a cheap, exploitable, and limitless source of energy. Or perhaps not limitless, per se. The Sun would suffice, were it more ecomomically feasable to exploit.
No energy shortages would at one stroke improve the world economy and put a stop to new wars being waged over fossil fuels. |

| It seems unlikely, m'lord. Humans still have the same base drives. Lacking technology, civilization would collapse. Lacking civilization to punish wrongdoers, we would again live in a world in which might makes right, and men kill one another for no reason save that they enjoy murder. |

| Eliminate greed and the production of military weapons. Just have one organization with weapons to defend ourselves against aliens and incompetent countries, no "country would be allowed to have weapons. Much harsher punishment for crime. |

Edit- Universal Restart? I don't know if that would significantly work. But I have another; I would destroy one specific emotion - Greed. Garnet's post was significantly one I wanted to see, a reason why communism doesn't work. |

| i can't really say yet. if there's anything i regret as of now, it's mostly petty things. i'm sure there will be something later on though |

What would I change?
Oh god... It's so terribly difficult to explain. Have any of you got that feeling of chills when you listen to a certain song, see a certain part in a movie, see a certain peice of art? There is a beauty in this world, and when it touches someone, the effects are as though nothing else matters and it simply intoxicates you into a world that, for a split second, is the most wonderful thing you could ever dream of. It's not something you remember forever, but... for a time, you could live happily forever and ever, or so it seems. This beauty... I noticed, does not exist in common life. Why can't I go to school, and have my days play-out like a wonderful, hilarious, artistic story where everything comes together and the end ties-up all the loose ends and makes the whole story make sense?
There is beauty in the world, and it's amazing. I'd do anything if we could truly experience beauty firsthand... the kind that really makes life a livable dream. When a man fantasizes, he is unhappy. I want no-one to ever have to fantasize again, for every one of his fantasies is so real you just want to break-down and cry, as you feel there's just way too many wonderful things surrounding you... I want beauty... |
