| What are your thoughts on anarchy? Personally I believe, socialism-anarchism is the best. My friend found an excellent anarchy site, www.spunk.org. It has some very interesting links there, even if you don't believe in anarchy, you should check it out. |

Anarchy is as stupid in concept, as it is in reality. Anarchy can never exist.
Anarchy is perhaps one of the most stupid political theories every thought up. A form of existance completely devoid of goverment. Such a concept can not exist in the world we know to day, or even the world back thousands of years ago. Goverments are here to manage people, and support the growth of organized civilizations. It is in mans nature to conquer, and to dominate others.
Think about it. What would happen today if there were no goverment? No goverment means no one to uphold or create laws. No laws means complete chaos. It wouldn't matter if a man busted into your house right now -- killed you with an automatic firearm, raped your sister and mother ; then ate them slowly with a fork. No one would help you, it is complete anarchy. The police would not be able to protect you, and it would all be perfectly acceptable. There are no laws, right? It's fine according to anarchy.
Such lawlessness would happen on the streets every day. People would do whatever it took to survive. The most likely thing would happen would be several rulers gathering enough followers to form a totalitarion type of goverment. Safety does come in numbers, doesn't it? It would be very similar to a gang or the Mafia. That defys the principle of Anarchy even more.
That mafia would soon become a very opressive and grim form of goverment. Humans are social creatures and it is our nature to form some type of goverment in organized groups. It's not very diffrent from how Meer Cats form communitys in the natural world.
Modern goverments today are generally just, and provide laws to HELP PROTECT YOU. The laws may seem annoying at first, but they prevent maniacs from eatting your family, or just driveing at 120 MPH near schools.
Most people who believe in anarchy are usually Americans, who don't firmly understand the importance of goverment. They exploit the fact America allows them a free concious and choice of mind; and spend time thinking up absure ideas like anarchy.
I for one am glad to live in a good goverment, and a peace-filled and civil world. Goverment protects me, and offers me a safe and happy life. Though I may have some rules I don't like, I understand why they are in place. They are in place to protect everyone.
Anarchy can ONLY exist in concept and fairy tails -- never in reality.
Anyone who ever thinks it could apply to the real world is very wrong, and takes what the goverments offers them for granted. |

I'll have to 'ditto' pretty much everything that Elvaan_Elmdor has just posted. A LOTTA things sound great in theory, but would fail miserably if they were ever put into play in reality... I don't agree with EVERY aspect of our current government, but I know for a fact that it's a helluva lot better than an anarchistic society would be.
We NEED rules. Without rules we wouldn't have board games, much less a government!!! |

| I love the statement "Drive 120 MPH near schools" like there would be schools if there was an anarchtic (?) rule. Any anarchist nation is doomed to fail in one generation due to total collapse of society, morals, and education. |

Anarchy is pure stupidity. It contradicts itself. It's rhetoric. A few well-written words are enough to impress the stupid masses.
They're like Microsoft. They can turn a couple of words into pages of text. - If you ever read microsoft documentation, you know what i'm talking about. Take MSDN documentation as an example. |

| In my opinion, anarchy is a step back from anything that humans have ever strived to achieve. It is the total dissolution of civilized society, and about as reasonable as living in the stone age. I've never had any consideration for anarchy, starting with when I asked a guy at my school, who had been known for being a rebel, with anarchy patches and theories written or threaded into his clothing and backpack, what exactly he believe anarchy was. "Anarcy is total chaos, man. Everything is burned and we all get to do whatever the hell we want," was his reply. Great, a governing system based on the desires of individuals, how satisfied we'll be, right? Wrong. Everything cancels out. Nothing has value and nothing has meaning. You don't own anything and whatever you come to possess is just as subject to being taken away. You cannot have anything you want because there is no real ownership without law. You have no security, and no rights. It's unstable and ridiculous. Anarachy is the absence of restraint, patience, and logic. A terrible way to run a society. |

Anarchy is defined in the thesaurus as disorder and misrule.
The world is made up of 3 types of people.
1. The people who don't realise the world is a cage where the government always rules, money is the motivation of everyone in society and that capitalism does indeed control everything.
2. The people who realise this but know it's inevitable that we will always have these powers suppressing us but will try to make the best of their lives and stay in control of what is theirs in life.
3. Those who will always, always rebel against the powers that be and always will and refuse to accept the inevitable. | | | |
