Teen Dating

Most of us, if not all of us here at FFR, are teenagers - who are in junior high, or high school. If your school is anything like mine, dating can get to be a popular thing at times. But is it really a good idea?
I used to see dating as just a thing for popularity, and still do to an extent. The only thing I ever got out of it was some action, and I never really liked my girlfriend that much. I'm sure quite a few of you will agree with me on this, but it's senseless in most cases, especially in Junior High.
I found a girl that I actually like, and I grew to love her. She is now my best friend. I'm always chatting with her online, on the phone, or spending time with her.
So for me, my view on this subject has changed a little bit, but I still have strong feelings that it is stupid in most cases. What are your opinions on teen dating? |

I think its a good idea to an extent. If you date a girl/boy because there popular theres obviously something wrong with you. I have a girlfriend and shes not the most popular girl in the school but i happen to like her. Why is it that no matter how ugly the popular people are people still say their hot?
So yes, in most cases its stupid unless you actually like someone. |

If you look at it, dating is quite a worthless idea in the overall life picture as a pre-teen. I remember when I was in 6th grade, and I had about 3 girlfriends throughout the entire year -- Well, I mostly went out with them for love, and popularity, that's it. Once you hit 16 or so, then dating becomes of a bigger importance. Most of the people who end of marrying, knew each other in High School. You hardly ever hear about anything coming from a Middle School to marriage success story, do you? Anyways, teen dating, in my opinion takes place for 1 of these reasons:
- Want love.
- Want popularity.
- Want to make someone else jealous.
- Want sex.
- Want to impress someone else.
- Want the glory of saying they have a girlfriend.
- Want marriage. |
