This Friday night, one of my closest friends overdosed on Extasy, and almost died. It turns out a guy put it in a drink at the party she was at, I'm assuming he was going to try to rape here when she was out.
But anyways, when she was in the hospital, it effected me and a few of my other friends in a very big way. It was kind of a wake up call to me, and it shows how easily you can loose your life just over a stupid pill.
The wierd thing is, when I have taken drugs in the past, I never even thought about how it would effect other people, and only thought it would effect myself if anybody.
It's surprising how wrong I was, and for those of you who take drugs - stop before you get hooked. (if you aren't already) I've taken some pills before, such as extasy, speed...I had no clue that they could kill you in one dose. But who knows, that could have been me instead of my friend. It's amazing how easily they will take your life away.
I have no exact reason why I posted this topic, I'm just still kind of shocked. And I guess I thought I could maybe get some of you to learn from it.  |

God, I will NEVER understand why people do drugs. Are these people SO pathtic that they must religh on a pill or peice of grass to make them happy? Just the concept behind drugs almost makes me laugh. Doing drugs is like taking an invisible knife, and slashing it against your wrist. It might not break your skin the first time, but it will.
I'm really against partys that center around drug use, police should be far more strict.. Instead of ignoreing reports, or just sending an officer to investiage.. I feel that 25 frickening SWAT TEAM members armed with MP5's, P90's, and M4's in full battle kevlar and TACT gear should storm the doors and arrest every one of those raveing dumbasses. Need to take em' off the street I think.
..Am I the only person who enjoys a quiet evening more than some ****ty party , or dumbass drug use :/? |

| I like parties, but I think drugs and alcohol tend to make people big headed and obnoxious. Do whatever the hell you want, but please don't say stupid **** to me when you're drunk or stoned out of your mind. |

| LoL I like your Idea Elvaan. I hate the Idea of drugs in my system, I refuse to take any pill medicine and anything else that is not utterly needed. I can't stand drugs and alcohol, i hate being around drunk people, and I just think its , so, stupid. I dunno how else to put it into words! |

well, i think youve got a very good point there attrox. only thing ive done in the past is weed, but as most people should know is harmless. a guy i new got his drink spiked at a club a wile ago, he was muged and had his phone and money stolen from him.
personaly id never go anywhere beyond canabis, i think anything else is just too risky... no matter what some people may say |

Effects of Marijuana on the Brain Researchers have found that THC changes the way in which sensory information gets into and is acted on by the hippocampus. This is a component of the brain's limbic system that is crucial for learning, memory, and the integration of sensory experiences with emotions and motivations. Investigations have shown that THC suppresses neurons in the information-processing system of the hippocampus. In addition, researchers have discovered that learned behaviors, which depend on the hippocampus, also deteriorate.
Effects on the Lungs Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may have many of the same respiratory problems that tobacco smokers have. These individuals may have daily cough and phlegm, symptoms of chronic bronchitis, and more frequent chest colds. Continuing to smoke marijuana can lead to abnormal functioning of lung tissue injured or destroyed by marijuana smoke.
Regardless of the THC content, the amount of tar inhaled by marijuana smokers and the level of carbon monoxide absorbed are three to five times greater than among tobacco smokers. This may be due to marijuana users inhaling more deeply and holding the smoke in the lungs.
Effects of Heavy Marijuana Use on Learning and Social Behavior A study of college students has shown that critical skills related to attention, memory, and learning are impaired among people who use marijuana heavily, even after discontinuing its use for at least 24 hours. Researchers compared 65 "heavy users," who had smoked marijuana a median of 29 of the past 30 days, and 64 "light users," who had smoked a median of 1 of the past 30 days. After a closely monitored 19- to 24-hour period of abstinence from marijuana and other illicit drugs and alcohol, the undergraduates were given several standard tests measuring aspects of attention, memory, and learning. Compared to the light users, heavy marijuana users made more errors and had more difficulty sustaining attention, shifting attention to meet the demands of changes in the environment, and in registering, processing, and using information. The findings suggest that the greater impairment among heavy users is likely due to an alteration of brain activity produced by marijuana.
Longitudinal research on marijuana use among young people below college age indicates those who used have lower achievement than the non-users, more acceptance of deviant behavior, more delinquent behavior and aggression, greater rebelliousness, poorer relationships with parents, and more associations with delinquent and drug-using friends.

What cracks me up is how all the ravers acted towards the police, and teachers at highschool. Half of the raver crowd made up my 9th grade Algerbra class, and they always messed with the teachers and looked like trash.. Always acted badass, and when I talked to a few of them they always said crap about the law..
I'd pay good money to see the expression on their face when 25 well armed swat team members bust in ,and hold a P90 with a red LAM focused right on their forehead.. screaming orders. Man, that would be more entertaining than the strongest hit off any bong. |
