My soul is slowly being destroyed by my constant lack of sincerity and all care in the world. Soon my heart will be as black and shallow as my personality and I will become a hate-filled characterless Disney villian in a world of superficiality and meaninglessness.....

I've been depressed since I read Carbait's thread. It's so sad to die like that, she could have lived. Heh, god knows I'll miss her, even though I don't know her.

Yeah, that was really, really, really, really, extrodinarily sad, but its not the first time I've seen something like that. That HL mod Frontline Force... this kid over there had lukemia. He fought it, and had to have a bone marrow transplant. He had it in remission for a while, but eventually it came back. He posted his last message over on the FLFmod fourms. Very heartfelt goodbyes. Nothing he could have done... he was only 16... its too sad...

It's a horrid thing that happened to Carbait, being stricken by a fatal illness at such a young age. But, if her decision to "let things take their course" has taught us anything, it's that life goes on. We can't sulk on these forums over her loss, for it was the very sense of community that drew her here to escape the downs of her own life. We mourn with speeches, we pay our respects with dedications and art, we honor her life by continuing to learn about each other, creating a tightly knit sense of communication for people to escape their own troubles and afflictions and have a caring environment to express their emotions within. I'm sure she'd want us to cease our brooding over our loss and sacrifice, and rejoice at our experience in knowing her as a friend, and knowing each other as a society. Friendship is what made her time on these forums unforgetable, and it's what continues to make ours worthwhile.
