I love making this thread because it's bound to get beyond 3,000 replies and of course it's a huge debate.
Aside from that what is your choice and why?
For those who are a bit confused I'll try to sum up both definitions as easy as possible.
Evolutionist's theory is that humans and animals or life entirely came about through the "big bang."
Creationist's theory is the belief in a higher being, or designer that oversaw the creation of space, time, and matter. |

| Evolution. Because science seems a lot more credible than voodoo. |

| Creation. because I'm me, and if you know me you know why I say that.... |

Evolution. Science has been able to produce evidence to back up it's claims, whereas creation is based off of hearsay.
The big bang > Seperation of light and darkness |

It’s impossible to prove either so I mostly remain stance-less, drifting towards Evolution because there’s evidence for it, but that evidence can be completely overridden by any Creation theory (despite their unfeasibility).
To quote Bertrand Russell– “There is no logical impossibility in the hypothesis that the world sprang into being five minutes ago, exactly as it then was, with a population that "remembered" a wholly unreal past. There is no logically necessary connection between events at different times; therefore nothing that is happening now or will happen in the future can disprove the hypothesis that the world began five minutes ago.”
With that said, I believe that it’s just as likely for the world to have been spontaneously created 2000, 4000 or 2 years ago, and for us to be unaware of it. The problem is – How unlikely is that? Very, so whilst I must credit that idea, I distance myself from it.
I’ll vote Evolution, because in addition to some evidence supporting it, those Richard Dawkins' debates have really given me some bias on this topic |

Pretty much this. Evolution may not be entirely provable, but at least it's plausible. |

| Evolution makes sense - you can see where things have evolved into other things. Creationism is simply baloney.... I remember the Edman reads the bible and thwarting everything he read..good times. |

technically, both theories are equally plausible, and there's no reason to ignore science in either of them. if an enormous explosion can create an entire universe from nothing, then a supreme deity could just as easily do the same. the only difference in what people deem correct is their bias towards either of the catalysts
of course, these two theories have quite a range, so it all depends on what you're arguing: origins, progression, or modern aspects of life |
