Default  Bashing the new Guys....
05.29.03, 18:55:16

Well I see a lot of people that think they know more then
a newbie because of their date joined.....

I happen to join this month and I know that I am doing good because of my activeness and dedication but do you expect any new person to be on and do as much as me?

I don't, the new people need help and not to be offended by the vets here at FFR! Look a lot of members here at FFR are VERY inactive in my opinion and they are mostly vets.....

If we continue to bash the new people then FFR will be a very slow community and nobody will want to join. Why am I asking this you say?Is it because I was bashed and I have a high id number?

Nope as far as I know I was never really bashed for being new. I think it is because I am doing very well and if I wasn't people members would probably try and make me leave. I see alot of newbies being bashed and i think we should give them a chance!

Didn't you have a chance at FFR? Yes you did but now lately FFR members (some) are very snobby to the new guys. Yes I have a high id, but I know and contribute a lot to FFR! I have a good post count, and the posts are high quality and they help out to FFR and the members....

Okay so please don't bash the new guys give them a chance.....

List all your comments here and tell me what you think, please.

Thank you

I am with you on this, the new members of FFR shouldn't be bashed on at all...it only prevents them from wanting to stay and become good, upstanding members. We were all new at one point you know. I was never bashed on as a new comer, so i wouldn't exactly know what it's like, but i know that if i WAS i wouldn't want to stay around

I check the new members inn from time to time. And i DO NOT see newbies been bashed.

The only reason i have against newbs are the ones that:

- Post in the wrong thread in NUMEROUS occassion
- Newbies that doesnt read the damn rules.
- One message posters

Now ive seen loads of newboes do this from time to time, and they are the only reason i see to bash newbies.

And a personal one i hate, is newbies greeting newbies o_O But hey thats me

Well here's one for you that is about the Newbs getting bashed.
You know that thread that GamerGirl made? Well here it is:

http://forums.ffrepublic.com/showthr...772#post403772

Read down on that page a little.

There is an example of Newbs getting bashed WITHOUT breaking the rules. And why should Newbs get bashed for breaking the rules once, if a long time member doesn't why them. Alls I want to know is if you think that Newb's should be bashed?

Well I don't notice a whole lot of bashing of new members, but then again I'm not really paying attention to such things. The only time I do notice it, is when the new member really sticks out. They usually stick out by Either not following the rules, or by posting something that goes against the common views of that forums "ruling party". But then again that's not always a guarantee. Some members tend to be pretty helpful when it comes to making mistakes. Anyway I can't say I agree with bashing new members. But I can say that as far as I've been here it's ocassionally happened.

once? I mentioned numerous occassions. Well if a newbie continuously break the rules, and nothing is done about it, then they just going to continue as they are aint they? Maybe bashing them to learn the rules would be a bit harsh. But some people have thier methods.

A long time member are aware of the rules, if break it at least they know they broke it, thus punishment from FFR staff comes to mind. But at least the aware of the rules.

It's just a thread where people are ignoring facts. *shruggity* I don't see any bashing of newbs or anything. o_O

But I do see it sometimes. And, it is uncalled for. This issue has been raised before, actually.

But honestly, I don't think it'll ever completely stop. Nothing will ever be completely fair around here. I've realized that. There will always be injustice, even if it's small.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't argue against it, though. If you've been here a while, you know that I make a LOT of threads making suggestions or complaints. Now, most of them get ignored. But not all. And as long as SOMETHING changes for the better, because of me...no matter how small, then it's worth it. And if I leave, I'd like to think that there will still be people who will stand up for themselves and try to help things change. And it's nice to see you raising this issue, at least.

There's a difference between newbs and n00bs, though. xD N00bs...are those ones that will always be immature and not follow rules, no matter how long they're here. They usually end up banned, hehe. Newbs are people...who will learn the ropes and improve. Everyone makes mistakes, but bashing them for it isn't the way to do it. Neither is giving them a warning, because it's really not their fault if they make a few mistakes. I think the best way to do it is to PM or IM them about it, and hopefully they'll improve. And if they don't, then give them a warning.
