I never met Rei. I hardly spoke to her when i had the chance. In fact it was rare when i did manage to have some sort of communication with her.
I remember logging in everyday, recounting with my peers and fellow friends the horrors and beauties of teenage life. We shared so much of each other and, in some way, bonded with each other in a way that we never could with people in our offline life. Looking back, Rei was a part of what made this place an escape. I do remember her posts, i was in some of her clubs and activities. She was always kind and helped me when others treated me with disrespect. Yet she always seemed to read and respond in an intelligent and respectful manner. I dint know it then, but it was a time when i really needed support from every angle. And in such a minute way, she helped so much.
Yes, indeed....she was definitely a part of what made this place a wonderwall in those turbulent years.
Then her posts stopped. Everything fell silent. Everyone fell silent. I had not known why at the time it had happened. A place so full of life suddenly still. Only nearly a year later, while searching for old comments and friends for some much needed closure, i found her by mere chance again. Only it was much too late. It was....such a sad, lonely discovery. With her she took what made this place magical. The end of an era.
I owe you one last goodbye, as a fellow comrade. Yet words escape me, as something mystical and ethereal speaks louder than words ever will.
