Chocobo to Maho no Ehon, the recently announced Final Fantasy spinoff that will star every FF fan's favorite form of transportation, finally has some details to go along with the title. There are also a few new scans! Yay!

The game, who's title translates to "Chocobo and the Magic Picturebook", begins when a black mage arrives at the local chocobo farm, bringing with him a mysterious book. The book is, in fact, home to the great demon Bebuzu, and through a series of unfortuante events, the entire farm ends up being sucked into its pages. The black mage, a brave little chocobo, and his keeper, a white mage, set off to stop Bebuzu's evil plans and save the chocobo farm.

The game will use the same engine as the Final Fantasy III remake, and combines typical RPG-like exploration with a card-based battle system. Players are free to move around the world of the picture book, and when an enemy is encountered, a "Pop-Up Duel" begins, wherein you take turns using cards to perform attacks.

Chocobo to Maho no Ehon is set for a Winter 2006 release in Japan on the Nintendo DS. There has been no word as to whether or not the game will make it overseas. But if you desperate for some choco-cuteness, why not check out the official teaser site?
