I bought this game awhile ago, but haven't been able to play it much because I've been busy with school, and I left my PS2 at home. I've played DQ1, DQ5 and DQ6 already, and I've loved all three games; the interface may be a bit clunkier than that of the newer Final Fantasy games, but somehow it doesn't matter to me.

From what I have played of DQ8, I kind of like how there's a bit more diverse range of enemy difficulty in random encounters. Adds quite a bit of challenge to the game, and I always thought it was a bit unrealistic how all the monsters in one area of an RPG were all around the same strength.
