We conducted a poll to see what you think about a new warning system for FFR, and the results were that it was going to be changed with the following guidelines.
It was originally made so that once a member gathered three warnings, they were temporarily banned, and after their fourth there was a permanent ban. However, most believe Spamming and Flamming should not carry the same weight, but with that system it did. So I have divised a new one.
This system deals with points. The members start out with 0 points. Each offense has its own weight or point value. Every time a member violates our policies, they will have a specific number of points added. A temporary ban is put into effect once the member has obtained 10 points on their record. A permanent ban is put into effect once the member has obtained 15 points on their record. Here is how the warning system breaks down:
1 point for spamming
1 point for off topic posts
2 points for pornography
3 points for flamming
Other offenses will be evaluated when they come up. Offensive material that is not covered in the above will recieve points based on the seriousness of the offense.
If a member's sole intention is to spam up the forums, they can be banned straight away. no questions asked.
Members who were banned under the old rules will remained banned because it happened while the old system was in effect. Current warnings will be converted to their equal amount of points.
I feel obliged to mention that it was Simon who suggested a change in the warning system a few months ago, so kudos to him. |
